Asad Khan’s family is now requesting blood donations after his girlfriend, famed rally driver Maxine Wahome, allegedly stabbed him into a coma.
In a statement sent out to Kenyan media houses, the family thanked individuals who had already donated blood to Asad, but added that more was still required.
Asad, a rally driver, is currently undergoing treatment at Avenue Hospital, where he was admitted after being transferred from Nairobi Hospital following the incident.
“We, the family of Asad Khan (Kalulu), would want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came forward to donate blood for Asad Kalulu.
He is still in critical condition and struggling for his life,” the statement seen by cnyakundi.com reads in part.
“At this time, we would like to ask all friends and well-wishers to please keep him in their prayers. For his continuous treatment, the hospital team at Avenue Hospital ICU requires 5 pints of blood group A+ or O+.”
Wahome, Asad’s girlfriend, has since been released on Sh100,000 cash bond pending the outcome of the alleged assault probe.
On December 12, 2022, she was arrested at an apartment in Kilimani when Asad’s brother, Adila Khan, reported the crime to the police after being told of the occurrence by the property management.
Senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi was told on Tuesday, December 13, that the suspect inflicted a stab wound on her boyfriend’s ankle, causing him to lose a lot of blood.

The police further told the court that the matter was reported to Kilimani police station and when they rushed to the scene, they found Maxine in the house looking disturbed.
Maxine refuted claims that she stabbed Asad and claimed that he hurt himself as he was attacking her and, as a victim, she needed protection.
