The family of a victim of the dusitD2 hotel terror attack is seeking financial help to facilitate the transportation of his body to Siaya County.
Mathews Obanda, 32, who was an employee of an eatery near the attack scene, was one of the first to be felled by the terrorists.
Yesterday, his 87-year-old grandmother, Eunice Odipo, said the family could not afford to transport Mr Obanda’s body.
His wife, Arnold Aluoch, 30, said it was a big tragedy, coming barely three years after she nearly lost her life in a road crash. One of her arms was amputated after the accident.
The family has appealed to well-wishers to support it to meet burial expenses.
Obanda’s body is lying at Chiromo mortuary.
Family member phone number 0743439398 Arnoda can be contacted by those that want to help
Kenyans have criticized the government for selectively helping for instance in the case of the AP officer whom they decided to help meet expenses after public outcry while the families of poor people like Obanda find it hard to transport the body, pay mortuary costs and bury the body.
The honourable thing the government should have done was to foot the burial costs of all the victims. Anyways, billions are stolen and wasted each year by corrupt government officials…Why not help?
You ask why? We are led by idiots
