Kenyans are poor and medical services are expensive.
They always say that the Kenyan is one sickness away from poverty, but this shouldn’t be the case.
Hi Cyprian,
Please highlight this issue about Labib Hospital in Eastleigh, 12 Street.
We took our mom Winnie Wangari Ibai, to Labib Hospital on 6/8/2021 and she was admitted. She stayed there until 16/8/2021 – 10 days. Upon discharge, the hospital bill came to Kes 1,016,510
Due to the current prevailing hard economic times, we were unable to settle the bill immediately and we requested the hospital to release our mother as we continue raising more cash to clear the bill. We even gave up a title deed as collateral but the hospital was adamant that we had to clear the entire balance for them to release our mother. With us being unable to offset the balance, they are still detaining her to date. This has put us through a lot and more so our mom who is now like a prisoner in that hospital.
Despite all these, we continue raising more money towards the bill. We are therefore requesting any assistance so that at least our mom is released.
We are hopeful that eventually, we will be able to settle the whole amount of the bill.
