This blog has exposed the some behind the scene issues that bedevil the Njenga Karume Trust. Today, we have new information about the con-game by the Trustees.
We recently exposed how one event of conmanship by an executive director of a bank, who was a confidant to the billionaire is tied up to the other fuck-ups in the whole scheme of things.
As you are all aware, Njenga Karume, now deceased, was a Kenyan Businessman who made billions courtesy of the looting that is prominent in all those who are close to political power in Kenya.
Njenga left a vast estate worth over Ksh16 Billion shillings. From hotel chains, to real estates, money in the bank and shares, name them, he was a true Kenyan billionaire.
Before he died, he had consolidated his wealth and appointed some people to oversee his estate.
He did not have a will.
This has opened the estate to so much abuse and mismanagement which is threatening to tear the family apart.
Embarassment
The Njenga family was this year in the news for all the wrong reasons, although cancer is a killer disease, a granddaughter if the later Njenga Karume died in the USA after begging for treatment money from the Trustees in vain.
The Trustees and some big managers of his business live large.
One Jacaranda Hotels CEO has bought prime land, two vehicles and owns a 6 block apartment in Eastkands area of Nairobi.
The Trustee chairman receives Ksh100,000 per meeting while the other members receive Ksh75,000.
How the steal money from Njenga Karume Estate
The Trustee is headed by these people, one George Ngugi Waireri (Chairman), Margaret Ndete, James Raymond Njenga, Henry Waireri Karume, Kungu Gatabaki and Grace Njoki Njenga.
Now what they do and continue to do is that, haphazard withdrawal of money from the accounts are done with the blessings of the trust chairman. On one particular day Ksh12 million was withdrawn from one of the accounts in three different transactions.
Apart from that, the hotel is sometimes robbed through signature forgeries.
The editor of this site learnt that signature forgeries are done to steal alcohol so as to make it seem that the family of Njenga Karume are the ones eating and drinking and that’s why hotel has “no money.
Hacking Bank Accounts
There are rumours of hacking of bank accounts to hide and steal money on behalf of Kimani and the trustees going on. The hacking is done by one Gregory Odhiambo, the head of IT who drinks tens of thousands with friends at The Node Restaurant in Westlands everytime he’s there; and he gets drinks at a discounted price and on credit. Mark you that staff members aren’t allowed to drink at the Restaurant. However, he does drink and we’ve been told that he even gets reckless with women despite having a wife and kids at home.
Some beneficiaries to the estate of Njenga Karume feel sad and abused by being get charged full price and cash only for alcohol.
Ill-mannered
In September, 2019, Njenga Karume’s grand-daughter Michelle Wariara Karume, 25, died in the United States (US) after lacking funds for treatment. She had unsuccessfully begged for funds to cater for her medical bills.
Michelle needed only Ksh15 million for medical, she begged for months for the money but it never came. The Managing Director of the hospital she was in even wondered how heartless the Trustees were.
At that time, the source says, Karume Holdings Limited which owns Cianda House along Koinange Street had Ksh45 million in its account. The Trustees kept repeating he same stamen, ‘we don’t have money until it was too late, till she got into a comma, they paid Ksh15 million out of guilt, the day after but it was too late and
The heartlessness of the Trustees made them throw Ken Karume and Michelle Wariara (deceased) out of a house in South C. They sold the house for Ksh72 million. They’ve not gotten a single shilling despite that land being their late father’s property.
