Jack Of All Trades: West Pokot Deputy Governor Has Been Working Abroad As A Full Time Surgeon
Devolution has been Kenya’s gift that keeps on giving. All forms of absurdities have been reported to have taken place in various county governments. From members of the county assemblies engaging in physical fights to misappropriation of funds, to meaningless benchmarking trips, you name it. In fact it’s no longer a surprise when something completely idiotic happens in these counties.
This week, West Pokot County has made it to the infamous list thanks to their Deputy Governor Dr. Nicholas Atudonyang who went missing immediately after the general elections last year. His electorate couldn’t help but wonder what was going on, some even thinking something bad had happened to Dr Atudonyang.
This search would later reveal very shocking results. Dr Atudonyang happens to have been working in the United States as a full time neurosurgeon in Texas and he reported back to work after a busy campaign schedule last year. He has also been pocketing salaries from both ends for his ‘hard work’.
Residents did not receive this discovery very pleasantly and now want him ousted from his position in the county government immediately.
The EACC has today summoned his boss Mr John Lonyangapuo and questioned him on this developing matter.
HAPPENING: EACC quizzes Governor of West Pokot County over allegations that his Deputy Governor, Dr. Nicholas Atudonyang has a full-time job in a foreign country and yet continues to be salaried by the County Government for no services rendered. Investigations on the same ongoing
