The government is busy announcing COVID-19 figures daily, while stressing the point that Kenyans should adhere to measures set out by the Ministry of Health (MoH) to contain the virus.
One thing that has been true over the past few weeks is that a form of mass hysteria, of some sorts, has engulfed the top bosses at MoH such that the discovery of COVID-19 Vaccine, which makes it hard for them to get more funding to lock Kenyans down, while looting, for a virus with 99 per cent chances of cure, will not be forthcoming anymore.
They are mad. These people are sick.
On the other hand, doctors who need PPEs and better terms of services are not catered for. More doctors have died in what appears like a second wave of the coronavirus.
In Kajiado, medical staff are not a happy lot. Most of them have gone for 6 months without salaries.
They are tired of living hand to mouth from money they’ve begged. Some are on their wit’s end.
Dear Nyakundi,
Am a nurse working in Kajiado county. We were employed under UHC programme, the CS is only talking about the services being offered under UHC programme but has refused to talk about the UHC staff delayed salaries. We have not been paid for 6 months now.
Honestly….we are the people in the frontline of this pandemic…working tirelessly day to day and yet we are not being paid.
Bills have accumulated na madeni yameanza kutufuata. It really isn’t fair. We have reached out to our governor Ole Lenku who is doing nothing about it at all. We also went to Afya house but they keep lying about dates. We were to be paid last week on Wednesday; to date, we’ve received nothing.
Honestly, tumefika mwisho. It hurts to know that some people can play around with people’s money that they have already worked so hard for.
