Klein Musyoka, the son of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, was involved in an accident that occurred at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) screening area on Saturday afternoon.
The incident, which involved a collision between a BMW X5 and a trailer, sent shockwaves through the airport and the surrounding area.
According to the witnesses, the drunk truck driver who lost control of his vehicle caused the accident and hit the BMW from behind as it was parked at the airport’s screening area.
Images circulating on social media showed Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti and Machakos County Trade CEC Sharon Nthoki at the scene of the accident, lending credence to the notion that the incident was related to official business.
The accident occurred in the early afternoon hours, as the entourage was on its way to board a flight.
The collision resulted in significant damage to both the BMW and the trailer, but thankfully, no major injuries have been reported.
This incident has raised questions about the safety of the JKIA screening point, which is a busy and high-traffic area.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident and to take appropriate measures to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future.
