On Wednesday, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) published a tender that raised eye-brows and curiosity.
The company published among other tenders that they are seeking, ‘Provision of Anonymous Whistle-Blowing Services’, with a tender closing date given as 16th May, 2019.
The picture was virally shared online where Netizens (People on Social media) immediately castigated KPLC.
‘Not very many things confuse me but this is an exception. Kenya Power, could you explain this circled section further please. I’m interested’, one wrote
‘Kenya power is looking for snitches’, wrote another.
However, before the end of the day, KPLC issued a clarification as below:
CLARIFICATION:
We are putting in place an online anonymous reporting mechanism to promote ethical culture & we are the process of procuring the services of an independent professional firm to effect this. Apologies for the confusion arising from tender advert ^KS
