Richard Ngatia, the President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has been adversely mentioned in the Kemsa Covid-19 scandals.
His firm Megascope is listed as one of the suppliers of medical equipment to the state agency. In the Kemsa scandal, the country cannot trace at least Sh43 billion.
However, on Wednesday, KTN TV, under their Trading Bell program, went on a Public Relations exercise for the rogue businessman, sanitizing without shame thinking Kenyans are easily duped.
The investigative piece that was done by NTV detailed how a well-crafted heist plan was executed right from the clearing and distribution of Jack Ma’s donated face masks to the point where they were sold off in Tanzania and some rebranded and sold to local companies who re-supplied them to KEMSA under shadowy direct tenders.
Megascope, a firm owned by Richard Ngatia was at the centre of it all with a known (most is not known) contract value of Sh1.1 billion.
KTN attracted condemnation from Kenyans because of this.

This is Richard Ngatia. He is the guy who is collecting Sh63 billion every year for medical equipment deal determined by the senate to be a pure criminal enterprise. He's appearing on a TV owned by the family of Ex-Dictator Arap Moi to "motivate" Kenyans. He's being cleansed https://t.co/tOeIE8JnAY

Looks like a sanitisation exercise is already underway. Just as expected.
Unless we get louder & tougher, they will keep getting more bold & ruthless. https://t.co/uKF9lMQteo— Africanus (@AfroEconomicus) September 16, 2020
