For the better part of Saturday, October 29, members of the Kenyan Twitter (#KoT) community were treated to an intriguing display of drama after an estranged lover badly exposed her female best friend for being a vicious boyfriend snatcher.
By midday, the name “Lee Mutunga” – the supposed cause of all this chaos – had quickly risen to the top of the trends.
A young lass, popularly known within Twitter streets as “Zawadi”, shockingly claimed that her long-time bestie, “Daisy”, was having a sexual affair with her man, right under her nose.
In a series of rash tweets, she said it left her utterly dismayed to find out they were smashing raw.
She described the incident as a proper stab in the back, which she failed to see coming given how much she had invested in the friendship.
“I will never forgive you!” she angrily said in one of her tweets.
“Roho chafu ka ya shetani,” she added in another.
Past conversations on the platform between Ms. Zawadi and Ms. Daisy portray a thriving friendship between two girls who appeared to deeply cared for each other.
All their past engagements look positive: they showered each other with endless compliments and even exchanged birthday wishes.
“Love You to Death!” reads a tweet from Zawadi addressed to Daisy in September 2017.
“Happy Birthday Woman, Enjoy Your Day,” she wrote to Daisy on 10th September 2019.
The two also kept close tabs on their personal lives and relationships despite the long distance caused by frequent traveling.
As we are made to understand, they mostly lived abroad.
For instance, in one of Zawadi’s tweets, she proudly shows off a gentleman (whom we suspect to be the now famous Lee Mutunga) with the caption “Men Who Cook”.
For whatever reason, she tagged Daisy on the said tweet.
Is this the actual mystery man? Nobody can certainly tell for now.
But, as expected, this scandalous story ignited diverse reactions from our ever-opinionated netizens.
A vast majority of male users heaped praise on Lee Mutunga for conquering both ends in such a legendary fashion.
“Maybe Lee Mutunga was not her boyfriend, but Daisy was her girlfriend. This world is mad,” one tweep wrote.
Following the heavy out-pour of views and gags under her post, Ms. Zawadi phone was blowing up with notifications, which led her to promptly lock down her Twitter profile.
At the time of going to press, Daisy was yet to say anything regarding the accusations.
Her account remains inactive, with the last activity being more than a few days ago.
