Back in May, as stakeholders were discussing possible measures to cub the rising cases of corruption in the country, Lugari MP Ayub Savula had suggested that a law to execute those found guilty of corruption be passed in order to finally get rid of the vice that has been drawing back the country’s development.
The MP had even gone on to suggest that the executions take place in public as a warning to the rest of the country.
The Lugari legislator had also asked for the amendment of the constitution, to allow courts to remand suspected criminals for long periods as investigations went on. Little did Mr Savula know that his words would later come back to haunt him.
On Friday evening, Ayub Savula was arrested over a Ksh. 2.5 billion goverment advertising agency scandal.
Kenyans now want his ideas implemented and are hoping he stays in remand until investigations are done and executed if found guilty.
