Hi Nyakundi,
I’m writing this piece because I’ve seen people getting arrested for squandering the public money, and would like to see those who steal from our CDF coffers face the same fate.
I’m a voter in Ruaraka constituency, and I’m concerned by the manner our CDF is handled. I would qualify it as outright looting, but I let me leave you to decide.
First and foremost I would like to invite your attention to the attached document. It is an official document available at the www.ngcdf.go.ke.
It is a list of projects by Ruaraka CDF from the financial year 2013/2014 to financial 2015/2016. You can study the whole document, but I want to draw your attention to the following projects:
No. | Financial Year | Project | Ward | Cost (Kshs) | Status | Reality |
1. | 2014/2015 | 4A Water Storm (Construction of a Water Storm at 4A Baghdad ) | Utalii | 3,000,000 | Complete | Ghost |
2. | 2015/2016 | 4A Water Storm (Construction of a water storm in Utalii Ruaraka Constituency ) | Utalii | 2,000,000 | Complete | Ghost |
3. | 2015/2016 | Utalii Water Storm (Construction of a water storm in Utalii Ruaraka Constituency) | Utalii | 2,000,000 | Complete | Ghost |
4. | 2014/2015 | Mathare North Modern Market | Mathare North | 20,000,000 | Complete | Ghost |
Total looted funds | 47,000,000 |
I want you to note the number of Modern Markets and Water Storms the Ruaraka NGCDF claims to have constructed. These two types of projects have been exclusively used to loot the CDF kitty. I know the entire Ruaraka and I can comfortably tell you that only the one at Glucola is valid. These four highlighted projects don’t exist, and this is just a tip in the ice bag.
