Again, after the launch of the Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI) report in November, Miguna stated that he would try to re-gain entry into Kenya. The new date of 11th January 2020 seems to be a follow-up that promise.
The conroversial lawyer, who called for the burning of president Uhuru Kenyattas efigy after the dispited 2017 elections, gave telpehone numbers to be contacted ‘in case anything happened to him’.
In February 2018, his huse was forcefully broken into by police who later took him to a undisclosed location and in March forcefully deported him to Dubai.
Despite over 14 high court orders calling for the resinstatement of Mr. Miguna, the government of the day declared him persona non-grata’.
Miguna has continued to stay in touch with his supporters through his social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and a YouTube channel.
It remains to be seen if the government will allow him back now that the BBI report that charts a new course for Kenyan politics has been released.
Miguna has stated severally that he doesn’t support the report.
