Good afternoon Nyakundi.
I’m a concerned resident & a bonafide jobseeker of Ijara sub-county, Garissa county.
On the eve of the last general elections, the various aspirants promised us so much goodies and the current Ijara lawmaker Hon. Sophia Abdinoor was not an exception as she had promised myriad of goodies especially youth empowerment and employment opportunities for the residents.
However, since she came to power, its only twice that she visited her constituency. She lives in her leafy house at Muthaiga, Nairobi and doesn’t know the plea of her people.
A case in point where her clan displayed too much greed and nepotism is this year June when CDF bursary was being disbursed. She publicly announced that the total sum of money disbursed as bursary was 28 million.
But too unfortunately, many of the youths who hail from the area in various universities and colleges all over the country never received the cheques nor the sum reflected in the school account despite their names being fixed in the Constituency office as the beneficiaries.
Now comes to the recent Kenya Red Cross job recruitment in the said constituency. The mheshimiwa is interfering with the credible exercise of the recruitment. She was overhead saying 80 % of the jobs should be given to her family members who dont have the quality education & the expertise needed for the job above.
She is practicing purely nepotism. Please air our grief as the residents of Ijara constituency. We will be very grateful.
