Three Members of Parliament from the ODM Party have called for a probe on the amount of money spent by the Jubilee Party in the just concluded Kibra parliamentary by-election.
The trio; Gideon Ochanda, Millie Odhiambo and Eve Obara claim Deputy President William Ruto violated election laws by using his official residence to host partisan political rallies, yet the premises were financed by taxpayers money.
“What we saw in kibra was use of a lot of money just for one seat, we must reign on this as a country, we must also know the source of this money,” said Kabondo Kasipul MP Eve Obara.
‘There were clear open doors in Karen, lots of money, lots of food, people were going in as Kisiis, Luos etc, so it was an exchange programme,” added Mr. Ochanda.
Tiaty lawmaker William Kamket termed Mariga’s loss in Kibra a political turning point in Jubilee party affairs and the 2022 State House succession race.
“Kibra is team tanga tanga’s grave. What happened in Kibra is exactly what will happen in 2022, it is also what will happen with the BBI. So team tanga tanga be ready,” said Kamket.
ODM candidate Bernard Okoth, popularly known as Imran, floored Jubilee’s McDonald Mariga in the Kibra by-election earlier billed as the battle of titans.
