Hello,
I work at village market so sometimes we come from work at 9.30 30 minutes to curfew.
Today (yesterday) I was shocked I got mugged between Shell and Total petrol stations.
The thief drugged me in the middle of the road I almost got hit by oncoming buses and cars, but thank God they saw what was happening and came to help but I received a few blows from the thief to let go off my handbag.
He tried to snatch it but missed and fell a few meters from me without my handbag.
What shocks me is not the first incident.
I heard that a guy was beaten and left for dead two weeks ago at the UNEP junction.
What are the police doing about it?
Thugs are many at that location.
The police are also near the same place.
The police should beef up security since there are many casual workers who walk from Village Market to Junction at UNEP so as to get public means to Gachie.
In my case, I went to the police station to report an attempted robbery with violence but they refused to give me an Occurrence Book (OB) number saying that I didn’t lose anything.
It appears like the police are colluding with the thugs, as one of them at the station told me that I was lying. He insisted that he was around Shell at the said time of the robbery.
He wanted to cover for himself that he was on duty, if he was he would’ve heard me scream. I was so loud because we tussle with the mugger into the middle of the road. The Total Petrol Station night guard even came to help
