A Twitter user Just Vic (@hotshotcreative) has exposed raw Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (Nairobi Water or NCWSC) incompetence that has let raw sewage from apartments near Wilson Airport reach the runway endangering the lives of passengers and others.
“These chaps at the Chinese expressway plant along the Southern bypass are the chaps channeling raw sewerage into the Nairobi National Park!”, he wrote in July 20th 2021.
He claims he was asked to pull down the above mentioned tweet which had been accompanied by photo evidence.
However, yesterday, he revisited the issue giving more information on the same.
“So follow up to my last weeks thread on the raw sewerage being channeled into the Southern Bypass storm drains and Nairobi National Park by CALE- the Chinese chaps building the Uhuru Expressway at their crushing plant. Two peeps reached out via DM asking me to pull it down”, he shared.

“Ishmael from CALE promised they were working with Nairobi Water to fix it. He says it makes them look bad. Really? I told him I’ll follow up. 3 days later & the deluge of smelly poo-water has gone down to a trickle. Phew. But, I still decide to climb the embankment & confirm”.
“I find the overflow from the Chinese plant has stopped. HOWEVER there STILL is a burst sewage line that flows into the West Park National Police Service (NPS) (housing) lines. See the shambas with greens? It flows behind the cop houses along the perimeter fence before disappearing. Poor chaps”.

Wilson Airport runway
“The stench is overbearing. The poopoo then emerges at 2 points at Link Road and Dorothy Apartments along the Southern Bypass. Hapo it creates a river of poo all the way to the Wilson Airport runway! That area has at least 6 boreholes. Is NCWSC waiting for disaster?,” he posed.
He has tagged all the relevant authorities in his tweets, from Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) because the area is near Nairobi National Park, Ministry of Environment under Keriako Tobiko, Ministry of Tourism under Najib Balala, The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), The Nairobi Metropolitan Services, The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), The Chief Of Staff, Office of The President , Government Of Kenya, Mr Nzioka Waita, and of course the bigget and most important United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which is headquartered in this dirty city.
None has tackled this issue or seemed to want to by the time of going to press.
