A niece to speaker Justin Muturi is behind a Bloggers troubles after colluding with the police to arrest him over Whatsapp Posts.
The niece, Judy Mbuya, is the Embu County Assembly Chief and only got the Job for being Justin Muturi’s niece because she is not that good upstairs.
Blogger Simon Gikunda was illegally arrested, and charged with the offence of Misuse of Licenced Telecommunication Gadget, despite the act being unconstitutional.
Confirming that they got their jobs based on the number of teeth they have, plain-cloth officers from Embu Police station arrested Gikunda over social media posts alleging that he contravened an unconstitutional act.
A further probe by the editor of this site revealed that the petty girl Judy Mbuya ordered the blogger to be arrested after the WhatsApp posts.
Simon Gikunda was released after paying a ksh. 10,000 cash bail.
On April 19th 2016, High Court Judge Mumbi Ngugi declared the offence of “misuse of a licensed telecommunication device,” as unlawful and vague.
The National Police Service should invest in educating the police about some of these things instead of letting some of them embarrass themselves like in this case. Having teeth cannot be the only requirement to be an officer.
