Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua was left nursing virtual injuries after a social media user publicly shredded him following his tweet where he called for a “generational change” in African politics.
In his post, Mutua urged African leaders who have been in power for decades to pass on the button to the younger generation and not to wait for the embarassment of being forcefully pushed out like the Sudanese did to Omar al-Bashir.
I hope African leaders are getting that it is time for GENERATIONAL CHANGE. We appreciate that without your great work we would not be where we are, BUT you cannot be in leadership forever. Pass the baton & don’t wait to be pushed out by us the TUMECHOKA Generation. #Sudan

Daily Nation columnist Gabriel Oguda stopped the governor in his tracks and reminded him that his record as government spokesman was characterized by “pinhole sycophantism and shameless propaganda”.
Adding that during one time, he denied that Kenyans were dying of hunger yet it was an obvious fact.

A lot of Kenyans seemed to agree with Mr. Oguda with some dropping their memories of Mutua’s tenure in the replies section.

He's acting all saintly yet when he was at the "helm" he behaved no differently

aaahhh…..the generational argument…look how youth in kenyan leadership are overrated. I dont think what is needed is a generational change, a mentality? ideological change is required here, something mutua wouldnt know even if it fell on his lap…..

Wait when and why did this guy block me?
Just because I went to the road he was bragging about and took the live photos of the potholes and damaged road that looks like a desert terrain.

Anafikiria tumesahau. These pretenders that lead us are a complete shame. For him to have the audacity to claim to be with the Sudanese people is just downright absurd and appalling.
