National Intelligence Service (Kenya) (NIS) which was previously known as the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS)[3] is both the (national) domestic and foreign intelligence agency of Kenya. It had its origins in “Special Branch” a department of the national police that was created in 1952 under the British administration.
In the Recent past, Kenya has witnessed many terror attacks hence questioning the Role of NIS in this country. In the June 2015 Budget, The Government increased the amount of money allocated to defence, security and intelligence services due to insecurity and Terrorism . Really ? Isnt that money used to hack critics Sites and Social media accounts ?
In a Nutshell, A total of Sh223.9 billion was allocated to security agencies out of which the Ministry of Defence and National Intelligence Service (NIS) received a total of Sh112.5 billion. But is this money being used for the Good of Kenya ? Lets see.
