Patrons who mostly consist of young Kenyans are accusing the Thika Police of harassment outside a popular nightspot called “Blend” in the busy town.
Last night, the club hosted popular DJ Hypnotic who thrilled revellers all through the night. But Thika Police saw this as an opportunity to position themselves outside the club’s main entrance and extort patrons exiting the club.
The young patrons mostly students in campuses like Jomo Kenyatta University where I studied, say that Police are traveling in private cars and in civilian clothing threatening to arrest those who fail to part with bribes.
The patrons largely suspect that this could be a collaboration between the club’s bouncers and rogue policemen attached to the Thika Police Station.
Patrons are now calling on the Inspector General of Police Julius Boinnet to move with speed and suspend the officers involved in the elaborate extortion scheme in collaboration with Bouncers at the Club. They are also calling on the owner to immediately sack the crooked bouncers.
I yesterday also lamented after a high-school student in Migori was shot by prison warders chasing an inmate who had escaped their custody. Is there a deliberate scheme by the fucked-up Jubilee Government to undermine, frustrate and kill as many Kenyan youths as they can?
We will not sit back and watch state-sponsored terrorism take root as if this is the Moi-era. Kenyan Youths will not be harassed by idle police who instead of chasing terrorists and robbers, are busy harassing innocent Kenyans.
The Kenyan Youths are now telling the Police and the mediocre Jubilee Government that enough is enough!
