Deputy President Dr. William Ruto has lashed out at politicians who are calling amendment of the to extend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term in office.
Ruto said that Uhuru respects the constitution and is also a firm believer in the principles of democracy to entertain such misinformation that is causing confusion.
“I do not think President Kenyatta has told anyone that he wants his term extended. So, where are these people getting all this information?” Ruto posed,
“As we discuss the Constitution, let us treat all Kenyans equally. Let us not have cards under the table.” he said.
He also asked Kenyans to dismiss those using blackmail and intimidation as Kenya can not be held hostage by champions of retrogressive politics.
The meeting was attended by several politicians allied to the Tangatanga outfit including Mp Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Nixon Korir (Lang’ata), former ANC Secretary-General Eliud Owala, former Senators Boni Khalwale (Kakamega) and Johnstone Muthama (Machakos).
