Nearly two years ago, a bitter court battle over the control of the multi billion shilling St. Mary’s Mission Hospital came to the limelight.
Here below, we share the tribulations of some of the staff.
Hello Mr Cyprian,
My name is [name withheld], I work at the [withheld] department at St Mary’s Mission Hospital.
Our concerns are as follows:
1. You know the whole story about take over that happened at this hospital in December 2017; afterwards we were hired in house keeping and Laundry department. The sisters at this hospital promised to employ us after three months.
When three months was over they told us the probation will take six months.
We were patient and worked hard until six months was over.
Instead of employment, as required by law, we were forgotten and sidelined as they brought their relatives and employed them on permanent basis while they left us on contract.
Now it is over 16 months and we are still casuals (on contract). We dont even go for leave.
To make matters worse, and without notice, they have hired a cleaning company called Stramy Cleaning Services to take over our jobs.
They have not even honored their promises.
Kindly let the world know that sisters are doing evil to us.
