Twitter user Charles Gachango sparked a huge debate online after a tweet he posted went viral on the social media platform, attracting all sorts of reactions.
In his Monday afternoon tweet, Gachango suggested that men start a challenge where they make sure they keep some emergency tampons in their bags, houses and cars in case they meet a lady who needs them.

The post was met by huge ridicule as members of KOT flew down the replies section like a swarm of bees; each with a strong opinion of their own on the matter.
Despite some responses which many regarded as distasteful, Gachango maintains that the purpose of his tweet was to start a conversation on “how men view menstruation and everything around it”.
Please. I am not trying to be picked. I am not into Women why would I want them to pick me? I am trying to have a conversation about how you men view menstruation and everything around it.

This is what Kenyans had to say.
I see Charlie saying carry some tampons in your bag or in your house or in your car in case you meet a lady who needs them.
How would it work?
How can you tell a lady you meet needs them?
With whose money?

The struggle to sound woke on these streets is now hitting a new low. You think men can carry pads around ati just incase they meet a woman who needs them?. Easily the most impractical thing I have ever read. I'm sure if a lady needs emergency pads she'll 100% ask a fellow lady.

Just remembered this one time I started nosebleeding while on a bus and the lady next to me gave me a tampon to stick up my nostril.
Anyway, if it's dumb and it works then it's genius!— Eddy (@eddyjetface) May 20, 2019
Before telling men to carry tampons for female strangers, did you inform and educate women on personal responsibility and the need for them to carry them just in case? Bloody

Uncle, in my jack bauer bag. I've panadols, mentol plus and mara moja. Always. And to be honest, I'll be very very uncomfortable to carry tampons. Would I ask my friends (females) if they're on the raining season? Absolutely no way. What about a stranger? No.

I can't walk around with tampons in the street. But in the house? Sure. 🤷🏾♂️ https://t.co/slCXHKODMz

Maybe ask your organizations to have well stocked (Pad) dispensers in the ladies washrooms and Office emergency/ First Aid Kit? Seems more practical. Also most females most times have spares in their bags etc, or know someone who is ready to hand one over. https://t.co/F2dMBikIEw
