A teacher posted at a popular learning institution in Kakamega County has become the latest talking point across academic forums on social media after he was hit by sodomy allegations.
From various posts that circulated on Facebook over the past week, a group of parents with students enrolled at St Peter’s Mumias High School claim that their sons who ran away from school reported having suffered sexual abuse under the hands of the well-known teacher.
From their own testaments, the multiple incidents were mainly perpetrated during weekends, preferably on Saturday afternoons, when the said teacher would invite a bunch of students into the school’s Science Room, expose them to explicit content as foreplay and then proceed with the treacherous act.
Most shockingly, the frustrated parents say that when they reported the incident to the school’s management, Principal Mwalimu Cosmas Nabongolo as well as his Deputy attempted to compromise them into silence instead of taking appropriate action on the said tutor.
With few other avenues for help available, the group has now embarked on an online activism campaign with the hope that their voice will be heard by relevant legal authorities.
As of the publishing of this post, the school’s administration is yet to issue any official statement regarding these worrying reports.
Meanwhile, the relentless parents maintain that justice must be served for their sons and have threatened to take the battle to court.
