The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (Ketraco) boss Fernandes Barasa is not a clean man and is hiding stolen money in his alleged money-laundering foundation
Ketraco under the corrupt Fernandes Barasa joins a long list of Government agencies where runaway plunder and loot override public good, common sense, and morality.
The man who was been exposed for swindling money from Kenyans through fraudulent compensation claims during the construction of some transmission lines in the country has now taken to the media to buy their silence in exposing the rot at the agency.
Mr. Barasa has bought spaces in blogs and media to write good stories about him in a bid to throw off the public and DCI on the mega scandals at the govt agency.
Is Fernandes Barasa hiding stolen money in his foundation for 2022?

As a former boss of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), he knows how to hide the loot. It would be stupid to expect an accountant of such high repute not to.
The DP Ruto man might be the new conduit for hiding, through his foundation, the loot for the DP and him. It is important to note that the two, tied at the hip by corruption, are gunning for top political seats in their various capacities in 2022.
Since getting appointed to Ketraco in April 2016, Barasa has grown in terms of wealth. Word is rife on the ground that Barasa is positioning to succeed incumbent Wycliffe Oparanya, the council of Governors chairperson serving his second and final term in the gubernatorial seat.
The PR machinery now working to clean Fernandes Barasa is on steroids. The man from Kakamega wants to join politics so as to ‘escape’ the law as done by many other crooks before him.

In the event he bows to sustained pressure from voters and ventures into politics, he’s likely to face Deputy President William Ruto ally and former Senator Bonny Khalwale said to be eying Kakamega Gubernatorial position.
Other possible competitors are present Senator Cleophas Malala, Women Representative Elsie Muhanda, former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, and current Lugari legislature Ayub Savula.

The Barasa foundation chaired by the CEO’s wife Janet has become synonymous with numerous sporting activities across the region.
The tweet attached above is one of the series of patterns that link Fernandes Barasa to DP William Ruto. There no other person doing these Youth-goods-giving ceremonies other than these two.
Corruption and Destruction
Still good vehicles that could be used by other state cooperations if KETRACO doesn't need them. But we all know they were bought so they could be "dispose" while new and someone can buy them at 10% of the value. CORRUPTION!!! https://t.co/eqSHB55Wcf

Information reaching cnyakundi.com indicates that Ketraco is massively cutting trees inside Timboroa forest.
“A kind of corruption, impunity, and destruction of our forests. Here is Timboroa Forest Station where KETRACO clears trees by massively cutting them down in the name of WAYLEAVE clearing. Riverine areas in the forest are much affected. Those involved were arrested but unfortunately, they were released by the order of the EC – Uasin Gishu County and the forest manager – Timboroa Forest Station”, the source stated.
Ketraco paid Indian firm, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd, Sh730.6 million for idling and is waiting for Sh2.8 billion more, which has been approved.
It should be remembered that Fernandes once ran away like a mad man from a hotel where coincidentally DCI Boss George Kinoti was coming in.
He was afraid thinking that the DCI boss was coming for him for the fraudulent payments that Ketraco had done to compensate Kenyans along the Mombasa – Nairobi transmission line.
Fernandes Barasa is overly guilty. No other parastatal boss is engaging in such display of wealth through a foundation.
If Barasa is not stealing from the public, let him reveal donors to his foundation. These are not mere coincidences, surely, something is cooking for 2022. DCI should look into it.
