Last weekend, a middle-aged man identified as Eric died after his newly acquired Volkswagen Golf MK7 was involved in a grisly road accident along Thika Road.
The deceased had reportedly flaunted the German Machine on social media.
He was overly excited after becoming a member of the ‘Volkswagen Golf Club’, not knowing that the car would claim his life.
Days later, fresh reports have now emerged, pointing toward the deceased being denied first aid treatment by a healthcare facility along Thika Road.
As per a circulating Facebook narrative purportedly retrieved from one of the first responders of the accident, it is alleged that Eric was first rushed to Uhai Neema Hospital, opposite Safari Park Hotel, but medics at the facility founded by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi declined to handle the victim, who was in a critical state.
The caregivers insisted they could not resuscitate him without the presence of his family members.
Not even countless explanations of the unique situation could convince them otherwise.
Running out of time, the good Samaritans offered to ferry him to a different facility.
The nearest alternative was St . Francis Community Hospital in Mwiki.
Unfortunately, by the time they got there, it was too late.

“I won’t get tired to tell you.
Don’t drink alcohol and drive, you will die.
So disappointed.
So today at around 1.45 am to 2.00 am I was at Nairobi Allsops heading to Nyeri and two vehicles a Cayenne Porsche (with two men and some drunk ladies) and Volkswagen GTI (also drunk but alikuwa solo) with a very high speed had an accident as they were competing.
They meet at the centre lane while overtaking.
So I was the 1st on the scene and I saw the guy on the Volkswagen was trapped with a deep cut on the forehead (possible head injury) and we managed to pull him out.
So I asked some boda guys hapo where is the nearest hospital at least wafanye something, and they directed me to a hospital called NEEMA Hospital which is in between Allsops and Kasarani.
Took minutes nikafika called the no and the one who came and asked me where is the relative and I explained to them what had happened and the guy need to be resuscitated they told me they can’t do anything to him without a relative and went back.
So I had no option and the guy was still breathing had to look for another option which I found out kuna St Francis at Mwiki and I went there.
Thanks to St Francis for the good work they didn’t even wait for me to explain they did their best, but unfortunately the guy passed on after some minutes of trying.
Congratulations St Francis but Neema hospital mkipata hii message you need to be human so kama Hana pesa ata normal saline hawezi pata ama kuangalia anakaa aje?
SHAME ON YOU NEEMA.”
