After presidential elections marred by controversy, yesterday DR Congo welcomed their new head of state Mr Félix Tshisekedi.
Although the former opposition figure’s victory was regarded illegitimate by many, the swearing in ceremony still took place at the Nation’s Palace in Kinshasa.
Out of the 17 African heads of state invited, Uhuru Kenyatta was the only one who showed up and now the online community has accused him of endorsing a fraudulent election.
Uhuru was accompanied by Raila Odinga and his Kenyan delegation to the event.
It's a shame @RailaOdinga and @UKenyatta endorsed stolen elections. There is no transfer of power, Joseph Kabila will still be calling the shots. The Catholic church should have been more forceful in rejecting the sham results. The free world let down the people of #Congo. #RDC https://t.co/01TL85SVkb
