President Uhuru Kenyatta won the Political Leadership Award for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) from the African Union (AU), Access Challenge.
Uhuru was awarded on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The President said Kenyans’ health-seeking behaviours, hospital visits and admissions have improved.
However, Kenyans begged to differ.
Surely, for a man who has led the economy down the drain, presided over massive looting, rewards very old cronies and doesn’t even go for the corrupt. Nothing great comes out of such.
This Uhuru, has not even reigned in on the health scandals that this blog as exposed.
FROM OUR INBOX
Hi Nyakundi,
Hospital under National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) should provide medicine to patients free of charge. However, is not the case in some hospital in Thika who are now forcing patients to buy medicine yet they will be paid their capitation.
I was a victim yesterday and today the management just told me that NHIF has not being paying them so they can stock the drugs.
Funny enough other patient just left and were contented with poor them buying drugs.
Why are we paying for NHIF if they can’t follow hospital to stock drugs?
Do we have quality assurance personnel in NHIF?
If you buy medicine you never get refund but I guess same hospital makes claim.
Have you ever experienced this in NHIF accredited hospital?
Health being one of the big four agenda will remain a pipe dream.
