On Sunday evening, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was caught on camera assaulting a civilian in Eastleigh area, Nairobi.
The governor had visited Madiwa area where a private developer had allegedly demolished some buildings.
In the video that has been doing rounds on social media, a group of youths is seen bringing forth a young man towards Sonko whilst announcing that he had tried to run away.
“Alikuwa anatoroka, Mshesh”, they chant.
Sonko then gives the young man a hot slap, shouts inaudible words at him and as a result, a minor commotion almost breaks out on the street.
Since the clip went viral, Kenyans have demanded for action to be taken on the reckless governor, whose past manifests nothing but his rude, abusive and violent behaviour.
The last time Sonko was on the headlines, he had publicly humiliated Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris during Madaraka Day celebrations in Pumwani Police Grounds.
Many feel that it’s about time the governor got a taste of his own medicine and had his rogue ways tamed.
