Andrew Peter Ngirici assaulted a man at Sifa Gardens for not supporting his wife Purity Wangui Ngirici who is said to be eyeing the Governor seat in 2022.
Peter is said to have been accompanied by more than 20 men who were armed with guns and knives.
In the Saturday night event, Peter’s who was intent on causing bodily harm, commanded his men to surround the compound of a Mr Murimi Muriithi, blocking all exit doors.
The vandalism
“8 men accompanied him inside the hotel while more than ten remained outside manning all the hotel gates”, Murimi narrated.
The men allegedly beat up the Sifa Gardens watchmen then punctured all the tyres of the car belonging to Murimi using knives. They went on to assault Murimi’s wife and robbed her off Sh3,000 while demanding for her phone after she took a video of Ngirici saying he’d Mr Murimi.
“Apparently somebody told him I said I can’t elect his wife as Governor of Kirinyaga at my cousin’s dowry ceremony”, Murimi said.
The Assault
He added, “He believes a family member must support the wife’s candidacy and refers to any other preference as an insult”.
A watchman has since resigned, switched off this phone and run away for fear of his dear life after being threatened.
“NGIRICI I only have one vote, Secondly, WE DON’T BEAT UP OUR WIVES, if your wife allows assault don’t get confused, you should have been man enough to come after me instead of attacking one lone woman”, Murimi said
Peter Ngirici is alleged to have said that the police can do nothing to him.
