Residents of Baraka Estate in Embakasi East constituency held demonstrations on Tuesday morning over the poor state of roads and lack of water in the area.
The residents blocked sections of the Baraka – Soweto road that connects Embakasi East to Kayole area.
The residents accused the road contractor of being too slow to finish the road construction. The contractor has been on the site for over 2 years.
Residents also claimed that they have not received water over the last 5 years yet they receive water bills every month.
The protest had caused a heavy traffic jam that forced motorists to seek alternative routes in the morning.
