Students of Moi High School in Gesusu were left to the elements due to orders from their head teacher.
A video sent to cnyakundi.com shows several students standing in the rain.
The school had locked them outside the gate for coming in late and nothing, not even the rain could make the management change their mind.
“Wengine wanajiinga watoto wakiangaika’, a parent is heard saying.
Cases of mistreatment at the school are rampant.
In February 2021, an epileptic student died in the dormitories of the school.
School Principal Lukas Matiko was not held accountable for this and a police probe on the death has not been made public.
“He was in the dormitory when it was reported that he was not feeling well and we quickly rushed him to hospital only to succumb minutes after arrival,” said a teacher
In June 2021, a dormitory at the school was razed down.
The cause of the fire which started in the evening while students were in class was not established.
That was the second fire at the school in eight years.
The relationship between the teachers and students is at an all-time low.
The school is congested and run down
