A video showing a machine churning out clouds that later fall as rain has gone viral on social media.
Most people believe that the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has created a machine that can make rain; but the truth is, that machine is used to test rocket engines.
The cloud are formed because of the mixture of Hydrogen and Oxygen gases which form water; in this instance, in vapor form.
‘The exhaust of the RS-25 is primarily water vapor because the engine burn liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. When those two are combined you get water’, a former NASA research meterologist Marshall Shepherd wrote on Forbes website.
Shepherd continued, ‘Therefore, the ‘clouds’ that you see in the videos or pictures are a by-product of a very simple scientific process (see below)’.
