Rated as one of the finest African artistes in the continent right now, Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy is never too far from the entertainment headlines.
In 2017, Burna was heavily bashed by Kenyans on Twitter after he showed up for a show at 3 a.m. and dropped a 1 hour performance at Club Privee in Westlands which didn’t go very well to those who waited for hours just to watch him perform.
In a reactionary tweet made the morning after, Burna Boy described Kenyans as “peasants” who loved complaining too much. The Nigerian then went on a mega Twitter blocking spree with thousands of Kenyans finding themselves on the other side of the “wall”.
Despite this, Burna Boy still came back to the country one year later and performed at a packed Uhuru Gardens during the Thrift Social-Athleisure Edition.
Even mediocre Kenyan radio presenters who had threatened to blacklist his songs from the airwaves attended the concert.
The “Gbona” hitmaker is now trending on social media again after he kicked a female fan during his concert in Zambia following her attempt to steal his ring during his performance.
Burna Boy has, however, tendered an apology saying that had warned the fan before he kicked her; adding that the video wasn’t how it happened.
