Today, there was chaos along Kisumu-Busia road after Maseno university students took to the streets to protest a rise in insecurity within the campus. Instead of listening to these students, Mason OCS sent police to arrest students, and beat them up.
According to one student that we spoke to
"One student sustained head injuries after he was attacked at around 10 pm On Saturday. Another was escaping, tried to jump over a wall when thugs attacked his hostel outside the university. He sustained fractures on the hip joint and arm. This prompted the student leadership to seek clarification from the OCS over rising insecurity issues, and that's how the strike began."
We have managed to get the video of AP officers mistreating students, instead of working together to promote security and good co-existence within the campus
