On Monday, American razors and personal care products company Gillette released an Ad that has stirred a huge debate across the world.
As millions were preoccupied with the #10YearChallenge on social media, Gillette released an advert on “toxic masculinity” and from the look of things, it has received more backlash than support.
The advert features news clips of reporting on the #MeToo movement, as well as images showing sexism in films, in boardrooms, and of violence between boys, with a voice over saying: “Bullying, the MeToo movement against sexual harassment, toxic masculinity, is this the best a man can get?”

Far-right magazine The New American has heavily attacked the advertisement’s message, saying it “reflects many false suppositions”, adding that: “Men are the wilder sex, which accounts for their dangerousness – but also their dynamism”.
Here is what other social media users across the world had to say.
I've used @Gillette razors my entire adult life but this absurd virtue-signalling PC guff may drive me away to a company less eager to fuel the current pathetic global assault on masculinity.
Let boys be damn boys.
Let men be damn men. https://t.co/Hm66OD5lA4— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 14, 2019
Gillette is part of the anti-male SJW movement. Any men who are sick of this can come right on over to us at Bawdy Barber, where we understand how men work and don't try to change them into women.

Great campaign. It’s too bad that a whole lot of men here think that being a man means not allowing themselves to feel feelings, or treat other people decently.

I'll never buy another Gillette again.

This makes me so mad my face is covered in tears. Gillette practically just castrated me. You're trying to make it illegal to be an alpha male, but I'm not going to let it happen. Me and other brave alpha male warriors will fight back and defend masculinity
