Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has ordered 48 officials of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to immediately surrender to the nearest DCI offices.
The said individuals include; 32 officers from KRA’s Domestic Taxes Department, 15 from the Customs and Border Control Department and one from the Investigations and Enforcement Department.
They are accused of helping to fraudulently clear cargo and alter tax returns to help people dodge tax payments, according to KRA.
Sometime last year, the DCI revealed that KRA employees had stoles over Kshs. 100 billion in six months.
On a good day, any of these wankers would make Kshs. 500,000 from bribes.
Many were caught unawares from the raid that happened last Friday and some are reported to have flushed their phones on the toilet in an attempt to hide evidence.
