As we said, Kenya is a hotbed of original ideas, concepts and inventions who are sadly blocked by the shameless self-promoters who bribe mainstream media journalists to always remain on your TV’s said virtually nothing.

Hi Cyprian,
This is Nickson. I am a One Young World ambassador and I am reaching you for help. A quick note about me: I am medical student and a tech enthusiast. I love developing healthcare mobile apps targeting people in low-resource setting. I have been involved in developing easy to use apps in Burundi targeting people with diabetes and in Pakistan targeting children who need polio vaccinations. I am currently building an app that allows women in developing countries detect cervical cancer, prevent it and seek treatment before complications occur. It is a really exciting technology that I want to make universally accessible to women who need it thereby preventing the needless deaths of our mothers and sisters from the highly preventable and curable cervical cancer.
I am working to make the service available for at least 10 million in rural areas in Kenya. To make this a reality, I have been selected as a finalist in the GIST Tech-I competition which provides the necessary support that I need to make the tool available to those who need it. The GIST Tech-I Competition is an annual science and technology entrepreneurship competition that enables innovators to transform their communities through mentorship, visibility, and seed capital prizes. This year thousands of applicants from 104 emerging economies submitted their ideas and startups to GIST Tech-I.
After extensive evaluation by expert panels, only 102 applicants have advanced to the online voting semifinals stage. From now until May 1, the global public is invited to review the semifinalists’ proposals and vote for their favorite projects every day. I am reaching you out to help me get the votes that will enable me proceed to the next phase of the competition by voting for my project and sharing with your networks. To vote for my project:
1. Log in/register at http://www.gistnetwork.org/
2. Click on this link http://bit.ly/1RUJTlb
3. Select the VOTE Button under my name Tom Nickson
The results of the ongoing voting stage will help determine the thirty finalists who will showcase their ventures at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Silicon Valley, June 23-24. At the GIST Tech-I Finals, these promising young entrepreneurs will receive mentorship and training and compete for seed capital prizes. Your votes and networks will help me be one of the finalist.
Please do share this email and attachments with the one young world community and its networks.
Thanks
