A walk in to some of th supermarket branches including the biggest such as the one at Greenspan Mall and Buruburu, one is wondering why these days stocks such as milk, pampers (specific kind) and Aryuv Baby wipes, just to mention a few items are missing for weeks on end.
Cnyakundi.com has also learnt, that apart from restocking troubles, the supermarket chain has failed to pay suppliers for months leading to the loss of business for those suppliers.
A firm, which supplies Tuskys has had their properties auctioned for failure to service their loans as per agreement with Family Bank.
The owner of the company had raised the issue with the General Manager of Tuskys over a month ago but nothing was done leading to auctioning of their assets.
The owner states that he now has ‘nothing to lose’.
This is to regrettably inform you that the last bit of our company has been auctioned by family bank this morning and so far I have nothing more to lose. You have refused to respond to any of our communications and remained non-committal to our payments since the last time over a month ago when your Mr. Leonard Mupalia informed us that all our pending documents were submitted to the GM for final approval. I regret very much this is happening’, the letter forwarded to cnyakundi.com states
When asked about the other suppliers of Tuskys, the man said that t is the same situation everywhere.
‘They have not also been paid but it seems they are content with it.
Question is: Is Tuskys Supermarket in dire financial straits?
