Kenyan companies, instead of asking for accountability in the public sector through their alliance, Federation Of Kenyan Employers, they like to blame their employees for the tough market.
Will the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection now under Ambassador Ukur Yatani ever rise up?
Read what Airtel Kenya is doing to their staff.
Hi Cyprian,
I hope you find time to read my text message in your inbox. I was laid off by Airtel HQ Africa that sits at the Oval office in Westlands, Nairobi on 26th June for no reason even the letter that the agency provided did not mention the reason for my sacking. I would like you to do a segment on multinational organization and even other corporates who are now giving local outsourced contracts that do not have any security.
They interview you, but give you a contract of a consultant firm, so that they can fire you at will and not be sued.
Many Kenyans, working in these circumstances, are denied their benefits like pension and good medical cover among others. I have been denied my rights I am willing to give my story but first things first this organisation Bharti Airtel, needs to be exposed to the public court. For this is a perennial behavior.
Please if you can listen to my story on one on one and put up a tweet on this issue to expose these thieves taking advantage of high unemployment rates of youths; who are desparetely looking for livelihood.
I would like you to put this out in the public opinion so that the ministry of labour can take up this matter and see what can be done to correct our Kenyan employment Act.
Outsourcing is not in the labour regulations and therefore employers are just taking advantage to spread their legal liability and denying Kenyans job security and benefits.
Outsourcing is illegal; and unless it is regulated people are suffering out here.
Kenyans must come out to defend their rights.
Please post this.
Thank you.
