Following our expose’ yesterday on the labour malpractices at Camusat Kenya, a French telecommunications company operating in Kenya, we’ve received yet more information on the company.
The company has contracts from Zuku, Safaricom Plc., Liquid Telecom and county governments to construct fiber network.
Reade below as received.
Good morning,
This is on regard to what is happening in Camusat Kenya.
Things ain’t right, for the past 4 years no single technician has ever had a salary increment.
Most of us are even paid as little as Kshs. 28,000 per month. How do you expect we technicians to survive in such economic times with such a salary? and as if that’s not enough we received a message that the management has scrapped the medical insurance covering technicians.
This is totally absurd and clearly shows that they don’t care about the effort we make to work even on weekends without being paid overtime to make them millions of dollars in Kenya
They claim that the “new” proposed insurance scheme will be commendable since it has been implemented in Tanzania but what they haven’t put into account is that from our own source the least paid technician in Tanzania is paid Kshs. 60,000 per month.
We the technicians in Kenya are fed up and are committed to blast all this animosity to the media and expose all that has been going on. Starting from low wages to no medical insurance cover to working on weekends including Sundays with no overtime will be topic of discussion by the media if no action will be taken within 7 days….
Regards,
Camusat Kenya Technicians
