On 25th July 2020, the chief editor of this site received information that an unidentified male staff at the Heritage Insurance had tested positive for COVID-19. The company allegedly warned staff not to divulge the information and only ordered other staff not to divulge such information to others.
“I can confirm a male colleague tested positive for coronavirus at our city Centre Branch, we were advised/threatened to keep quiet and to deny any story”, an anonymous source wrote
Heritage Insurance only told staff to stay away for fumigation services according to an internal memo seen by cnyakundi.com
“Please note that the Head Office will be closed 0n Saturday July 25th 2020. This is to allow for sanitization services to be carried out in the building. You can however be served at our City Centre Branch located at Lonrho House. Standard Street • Mezzanine Floor. from 8:15 am – 1:00 pm. Normal services will resume at Liberty House on Monday July 27, 2020 at 8:15 am”, the memo signed by the MD of Heritage insurance Godfrey Kioi stated.
Staff are now fearful for their health.
“The problem is that they only did fumigation/disinfected the town branch but the employee might have interacted with customers, other employees, public, family e.t.c”, added the anonymous source.
