Despite many followers on social-media, Peter Kenneth performed dismally at the 2013 General Elections, even being pipped by Raila Odinga at his home-turf in Gatanga, where the CORD frontman garnered more votes than the former two-term MP. Is Peter Kenneth’s rise to money and fame too good to be true?
It is said that Peter Kenneth is one of the wealthiest Kenyans in the country. But his silence in the face of calamity and corruption which threatens to bring down Kenya’s economy has fuelled suspicion that he could also be a beneficiary from corrupt StateHouse deals.
But who is Peter Kenneth? It is rumored that his rise to fame is purely based on an alleged romantic affair with former Aldai MP and Head of Civil Service Sally Kosgei during the Moi-era. Reason why sometimes the mixed-race former MP finds it difficult to command the respect of men, being that he’s a project of a woman. Despite the motto “get rich or die trying” money is slowly becoming an insignificant factor in impressing Kenyans, and the source of it will now be the most critical factor, not just it’s presence.
But Peter Kenneth’s rise can be linked to his stint at the Kenya Reinsurance Corporation and in 2002 almost managed to sell it to Monarch Insurance and Zimbabwe Reinsurance Corporation, a sale that was only stopped by court-order and Opposition MP’s protest. Shamelessly auctioning our heritage and pride to the highest bidder.
His stint as Kenya Football Federation Chairman was even more deplorable. Despite being young and energetic, he never achieved anything and instead preferred taking photos with Sepp Blatter and President Moi. He never went out of his way to position the National Team Harambee Stars on the map, and during his tenure, none of the teams qualified for a major tourney or won any championships. He was just a blonde smooth-talking but underwhelming Chairman, probably worse than Sam Nyamweya who is scum of the earth.
Beyond his private career, his public life was equally colourless. As assistant Minister of Finance, and also of Cooperatives, Kenneth only worked with old men whom he elevated into prime positions in parastatal he wielded influence in. It is thus hypocritical for him to turn around and purport to represent the youth, whom he has never represented or elevated. From his CDF Committee’s, to plum jobs within his docket, Peter Kenneth never elevated a youth. What makes you Kenyans think that he will suddenly change once he becomes President?
Beyond that, like Ory Okolloh whom we have recently come to discovers works for StateHouse as a planted mole on social-media aimed at distorting discourse meant to trigger citizen action or state response, Peter Kenneth blocks anyone that’s critical of him, even when questioned about his stand on national issues. Quite fascinating for someone who dreams to be president but indifferent to divergent views. Which can only mean that Kenneth has many skeletons he is hiding and is afraid of them being exposed as they may taint his “Mr. Perfect” image.
Ronnie Osumba his running mate is a known functionary of StateHouse, and their matrix includes Bob Collymore who once tweeted of Peter Kenneth’s luxurious residence and out-of-this-world bar. It is widely speculated that Peter Kenneth was also a beneficiary of the single-sourced CCTV tender with variations scaling from 14B to over 50B. Peter Kenneth was said to be the intermediary between the Chinese firm supplying the bogus camera’s that don’t work.
This week StateHouse in a bid to continue propagating the lies about benefits of the CCTV camera’s released “data” showing how 16 cars had been recovered thanks to Bob Collymore’s Camera’s. With a rough estimate of Kshs. 2million per vehicle, that’s a total of Kshs. 32million of recovery after a Kshs. 50Billion investment. What logic is that? The only explanation was that this emergency spending where another Kshs. 100million was spent on a marketing campaign convincing Kenyans on the need on those camera’s (plus Uhuru’s pathetic make-up), was an unnecessary baggage on a struggling economy. You will all remember the “Usalama Unaanza Na Wewe” nonsense. Those CCTV billions should have gone to paying teachers and doctors.
The brief defending the CCTV camera’s and shared through bribed journalists and compromised editors was prepared by Nzioka Waita, former senior manager at Safaricom who is the Secretary for Delivery at StateHouse. He is the man who knows everything about the money that was fleeced from Kenyans to buy useless cameras. What Dr. David Ndii refers to “Big Projects Conjured by Hollow Men.”
The only logical conclusion is that Peter Kenneth is a major beneficiary of the corrupt Jubilee regime.
