Frustrated staff members at the Le Palanka African Restaurant along 909 James Gichuru Road, Nairobi, are up in arms against the establishment’s management for withholding their dues.
Writing to this blog on Friday, December 9, 2022, one employee disclosed that they have gone over three months without payment.
Anyone that dares to stand up and speak out against this grave injustice is quickly demonized and issued termination letters.
As if that is not rude enough, the managers call the cops on any complainants that return to rightfully ask for salary arrears upon facing the sack.
They are wheeled away and thrown into the cells on trumped-up charges of “causing a disturbance”.
The source also revealed that its directors, who act as the middlemen, have been stealing from the Senegalese owner Mamadou Kolade and pocketing funds meant for sorting out wages.
One culprit recently set up his own entertainment joint in Karen using the looted proceeds.
