Mohamed Jaffer’s company Progas lost $1 million to hacking, a source told cnyakundi.com in March.
The company which is under Proto Energy has been stealing from Kenyans through shady market manipulations and underhand dealings.
Jaffer is a longtime criminal masquerading as a saviour in the energy sector; with his deep pockets, he had bought almost all media houses and politicians.
“Contracts at the Energy Ministry are manipulated by him, he has bought all relevant government officials. And it is a known fact that he is a long time Raila Odinga ally turned a Ruto-ally. Funds their campaigns”, a source wrote.
The above revelation and many others can be confirmed in some articles we wrote a while back.
In the stealing of Sh110 million from the company, the source says a fund redirection occurred.
“It is a sensitive issue, by the way, fund redirection by developers had happened over a period of one month. It was only realised a week ago”, the source said in March.
Question is, what was this money used for?
Did Jafer steal money from his own firm?
Other issues
This site has covered issues at Proto Energy extensively.
There have been issues to do with Human resources where the management is accused of creating slave-like conditions.
“I am ****** ****** working with Progas . I will give you a lot of secrets and suffering the employees go through in Proto and the racist activities done there. They have sacked 750 employees since Dec last year”, a staff member said in the article linked above.
Progas staff, sometimes, go for months without pay, yet the company handles lucrative tenders. Read more below:

Jaffer’s power to arm-twist state institutions can be seen in this article. In June 2021, the court rejected a bid by Proto Energy to charge three oil firms over Sh5 billion for using its cylinders in the cylinder exchange pool programme.
Remember that the cylinder exchange pool was set up by the marketers in 2012 to allow consumers to refill cooking gas cylinders from any brand that is a party to the agreement. This has really helped consumers.
At some point, sensing that he is not getting any favours by being close to Raila Odinga, Jaffer changed allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.
However, his appetite for making Kenyans suffer so that he can squeeze maximum profits was always intact. Many have forgotten this very first scandal.
Progas polluted the National Oil Corporation’s plans for cheap gas.
