Health CS Sicily Kariuki in a bid to throw NHIF CEO Geoffrey Mwangi into the dumpsite has claimed that she wrote a letter to the DCI to investigate claims that some auditors the ministry had sent to the National Hospital Insurance fund received death threats.
This is after detectives from the DCI alleged that the fund’s CEO and finance director had denied them crucial documents as they dug deep into the scandals that have led to the loss of billions.
According to the letter, the auditors sent by the ministry returned and said they would not continue with the exercise due to many death threats. Some have reported being trailed by strange people.
One auditor says he was trailed into a supermarket by unknown people while the other received open death threats by unknown people in Thika.
The multimillion scandals at the fund expose a rotten institution doing everything to hide the rot that is deeply embedded within their DNA.
It also confirms that the CS Sicily Kariuki wants the NHIF CEO out together with other senior officials within the fund
