A media company based in Nigeria has been exposed for failure to honour salaries to their former employees.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Kenyan journalist Elayne Okaya revealed that News Central Africa Television was yet to remit their outstanding dues and bonuses three years after they left the station.
In a move to silence their voice, the disgraced TV Station has been mass blocking all the former staff members from accessing its social media pages.
“Hi News Central TV, you can block me but you will still have to pay me and other former staff members that you owe. Refusing to pay salaries of those who worked for you is unethical. We have been waiting since 2019,” the seasoned multimedia producer based in Nairobi furiously wrote.
The 24 hours news channel is headquartered in the commercial capital of Lagos.
Their content focuses on politics, business, sports and inspiring features as enabled by digital technology.
It is quite shameful that the company which prides itself in providing a platform that challenges the status quo does not respect even the most basic media ethics.
Our attempts to reach out to the media station for a comment proved futile as their rude agents kept forwarding all our calls to voicemail.
We shall be keenly following this story and bring you subsequent updates on this travesty of justice.
