Yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto visited the United Kingdom and held talks with George Hollingberry, Minister of State for Trade Policy, Department of International Trade.
Ruto assured Mr George Hollingberry that Kenya would play its role to ensure success of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), under special consideration with the European Union to access its duty-free market.
According to DP Ruto, the broadening of cross-border trade will allow Kenya penetrate new markets, enhance its competitive advantage and increase its foothold in global commerce.
Ruto also added that the arrangement wouldn’t “preclude Kenya’s traditional trade ties with the UK, which is a valued partner.”
