On Friday, former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto met the Deputy President face to face for the first time since 2018.
The two leaders were attending a rally in Bomet County where the Deputy President was set to conduct a Boda Boda fundraising exercise.
Before the event, the two reportedly met in Bomet in what many views as an attempt by DP Ruto to try and put his political backyard in order ahead of the 2022 general elections.
During his tour of Bomet, the Deputy President is expected to commission different roads, donate a bus to the national super league’s Silibwet FC.
The meeting between the two leaders comes barely a month after Isaac Rutto declared to back Gideon Moi for the presidential bid next year.
Analysts say that since Isaac Ruto knows clearly that he lost his Bomet gubernatorial seat 2017 because of the move to oppose strong Ruto wave in the vote-rich Kalenjin & Rift Valley, his only chance at survival is to rejoin DP Ruto’s camp to recapture his seat and retrieve himself from political oblivion.
Below is a video now doing rounds on social media of Ruto introducing Rutto to the crowd earlier today.
